Alright! I finally have time to post. Lately, everything has been moving along like analog tape with no buttons for rewind or slow while I've been trying my best to "cut and paste" my training sessions in and around more pressing daily appointments. You know, stuff like dropping off and picking up the kids from school, taking them to swim class, dropping off and picking up the wife from work...things a one-car-family normally do. My
Honda Fit has become a roving locker room complete with the stench of running shoes and sweaty tri-shorts. I even have a hanger for drip drying all my wet stuff. Man, my bike gloves sure do stink. I'm thinking about fumigating the car with Lysol for a couple of days, if I can park it long enough. Tough getting a family around with just one car. One of the few sacrifices my wife and I have placed upon ourselves in anticipation for tougher times here in good ol' Saipan. We could easily get a second car, but why paint the ship before the storm?
I've been enjoying my training more these days. It offers me a nice escape from the dizziness of the down-spiraling direction Saipan has been taking thanks to power rates increasing more than 50%, daily power outages, gas prices and overall cost of living continuously on the rise. At least the Pacific air is still free and hasn't been mismanaged by our local government.
I don't think I'd be able to squeeze in as much training time as I have if I didn't have a cool GM.
Harry has been real generous about giving me time during the day to get in a good workout. This has kept me on schedule so far as I train for the Tinian Aqua Blue Triathlon.
As far as training goes, I'm feeling stronger and not guessing as much. It's taken me 3 years to get to feeling this way about training. Sure would be nice to get me a coach and just completely rid myself of guessing. In the meantime, me coach me, and I say thank goodness for my
Garmin.
